My first one comes from my college days back in 1974 when I was invited to share with an American family and, definitely, it was magical. The whole ambiance - pine trees, pecan trees, cold humid Mississippi weather and the hosts' graciousness - was the introduction to a delicious roasted turkey accompanied of cranberries and sweet potatoes. Memories are slippery but what lives on is the sense of togetherness of two different cultures.<br>Yeah! I love Thanksgiving.Miguel Santeliznoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5151708709481198031.post-30178273556826098752011-11-18T00:53:30.000-08:002011-11-18T00:53:30.000-08:00That's great! But I still often think about how Thanksgiving came about and the ways in which it misrepresents the relationship between America’s first colonizers and its native people.
